Appearance and Opening

This particular book already has what seems to be various writings in it, and one of the first things notable about it is its make and condition. It is an odd shape, and appears to have a cover made of some sort of dark colored, water-resistant bark. There are swirling, organic patterns in the wood cover concealing the pages, gleaming a shiny gold in certain lights, with only speckles of it reflecting in others. The tome is large, but unevenly cut, as though made from an apprentice hand over a master. Still, it is quite sturdy, and interestingly bound with what appear to be almost vines of some sort, with small, luminescent teal leaflets poking out here and there. In several places on the binding, a few red mushrooms grow, as though to protect certain spots from damage. However, it seems the faint crackle of chaos magic that jumps from the tome to an unfamiliar hand too close does a fine job at protection itself.

Past the protection of the magic, the first page reads:

Book of Beginnings: Finding the Rules

Xsaiavlairnn

The next page is blank, and the following pages are written in occasional interesting disarray. The writing itself advances from messy to neat; the title being more well scribed, it appears that is was added in after the fact. There are drawings, diagrams, occasional splotches, and things that seem to have been stuck into the book within the starting pages. Soon enough, one will find more recent entries.
